The Duke University Summer Research Program 2025 provides an immersive nine-week Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at Duke University, one of the top research institutions in the world.
The fully funded summer research program offers a $5,400 stipend, travel reimbursement, and free housing and meals on campus. Participants will engage in cutting-edge research, collaborate with Duke faculty, and present their findings at a special symposium. International students are also eligible to apply!

Exclusions of Summer Research Program for Undergraduate Students
- First-year and final-year undergraduate students are not eligible
- Some projects (marked with ✪) are only open to US citizens and permanent residents
- International students must have legal residency in the USA during the program
Eligibility Criteria for the Undergraduate Research Program
To apply, you must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Have sophomore or junior (second- or third-year) status
- Have a strong academic record and interest in research
- Be able to legally reside in the US for the program duration (Duke will assist with J-1 Visa if needed)
📌 Students outside the second or third year can apply with a justification in the application form.
