The Harpswell Leadership Residency 2026 is now open for applications! The fully funded professional development opportunity allows you to live and work in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, while supporting and mentoring future Cambodian women leaders.
The Harpswell Leadership Residency brings together talented international women to live alongside and empower Cambodian students through education, leadership training, and cross-cultural exchange. Whether you are applying as a Leadership Resident (LR) or as a Leadership Resident Fellow, this program offers a meaningful experience in social impact and personal growth.

Exclusions of the Harpswell LR Fellows Program
- Participants must cover their travel to and from Cambodia
- The program is only open to women with university degrees
- Evening and weekend work required (non-traditional schedule)
- The program requires a 4 to 12-month full-time commitment
Eligibility Criteria of Leadership Development Fellowship
For Leadership Residents (LRs):
- International women with a completed university degree
- Strong English speaking and writing skills
- Passion for social change, education, and women’s empowerment
- Ability to work independently and adjust to new environments
- Willing to work evenings and weekends
For LR Fellows:
- All of the above, plus:
- At least 2 years of professional experience
- Previous teaching or leadership experience is strongly preferred
