Exclusions of the Malaysian Universities Scholarships 2025

  • Not available for part-time studies
  • Does not cover travel, visa, accommodation, or thesis/publication fees
  • No allowance for students studying remotely from outside Malaysia
  • No extension beyond the maximum sponsorship period (24 months for Master’s, 36 months for PhD)

Eligibility Criteria for the Malaysia Government Scholarship 2025

To apply, you must meet the following:

  • Be a citizen of one of the recipient countries
  • Under 40 for Master’s / under 45 for PhD
  • Academic Requirements:
    • Master’s: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 or Second Class Upper
    • PhD: Excellent results in a relevant Master’s degree
  • Language Proficiency:
    • IELTS 6.0+ / TOEFL PBT 550+ / or proof of English-medium instruction
  • Research Proposal (for research programs only): At least 1,000 words
  • Must apply for full-time postgraduate programs at eligible universities

  • Admission Deadline (after award): Within 90 days of receiving the MIS offer
