Exclusions of the Malaysian Universities Scholarships 2025
- Not available for part-time studies
- Does not cover travel, visa, accommodation, or thesis/publication fees
- No allowance for students studying remotely from outside Malaysia
- No extension beyond the maximum sponsorship period (24 months for Master’s, 36 months for PhD)
Eligibility Criteria for the Malaysia Government Scholarship 2025
To apply, you must meet the following:
- Be a citizen of one of the recipient countries
- Under 40 for Master’s / under 45 for PhD
- Academic Requirements:
- Master’s: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 or Second Class Upper
- PhD: Excellent results in a relevant Master’s degree
- Language Proficiency:
- IELTS 6.0+ / TOEFL PBT 550+ / or proof of English-medium instruction
- Research Proposal (for research programs only): At least 1,000 words
- Must apply for full-time postgraduate programs at eligible universities
