The WIPO Young Experts Program (YEP) is a prestigious career development program. It helps early-career professionals who are passionate about Intellectual Property (IP) and its role in innovation and sustainable growth worldwide. Participants gain hands-on experience working on WIPO’s global IP projects in Geneva, Switzerland.

This program offers exposure to both technical and strategic aspects of IP. Exclusions of the WIPO Young Experts Program

  • The program is not a recruitment path for permanent WIPO jobs
  • Participants cannot apply for WIPO jobs during or within two years after YEP
  • No family allowances or dependent support provided
  • Remote work is not permitted; participants must be physically present in Geneva
  • Travel expenses are only partially covered
  • The stipend is for living expenses, not a salary

Eligibility Criteria for the IP Career Development Program

  • Must be under 35 years old at the time of application
  • Hold a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent)
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong analytical, research, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge or experience related to intellectual property, innovation, or creativity
  • Available for full-time work in Geneva for 24 months starting February 1, 2026
